In a touching gesture of solidarity and support, NUP leader Bobi Wine today served as a father-figure for Samuel and Noeline Kibalama, children of the disappeared comrade Johnbosco Kibalama. The event took place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Gayaza, where the two children received the sacrament of confirmation, an important milestone in their faith journey.
Johnbosco Kibalama, a steadfast NUP activist, was abducted on June 3, 2019, under circumstances that remain unresolved. In his absence, the NUP has rallied around his family, ensuring that his children, Samuel and Noeline, receive the support they need for a stable upbringing. Bobi Wine expressed deep admiration for Kibalama’s wife, who has been a pillar of strength, taking on both parental roles since her husband’s disappearance.
Bobi Wine also acknowledged the extended family, friends, and NUP comrades who continue to contribute to the children’s education and welfare. Reflecting on the enduring resilience of Kibalama’s family, he underscored NUP’s commitment to advocating for those impacted by state persecution, and to providing for the families affected by political repression under General Museveni’s administration.
This ceremony, steeped in hope and unity, speaks volumes about NUP’s resolve to support and uphold the families of its members who have faced or continue to endure political injustice in Uganda.
